——多伦多大学中国研究生浅论马云

一、我的加拿大求学路
亲爱的朋友，你如果想要知道“智能天狗”是什么梦，那得先知道我，罗天狗是什么人。我生於壬戌狗年，我生在部队，从小随母亲在部队长大。从我生下来我爸就叫我天狗，说中国人都知道天狗的故事，那是一条了不起的狗。我的大名叫罗正阳，是我的外曾祖父姚雪垠给我起的，他说要接天地阳刚正气，做一个光明磊落的人。我是他的第一个四辈重孙，特别给我起的名字。后来我才知道他是中国一个很有名的历史文学家，他九十岁去世，为了纪念他，国家用他的名字设立了“姚雪垠长篇历史小说奖”。但我从小就不喜欢文学，偏爱数学。
我的生日，就是沈阳每年向全国敲响大钟的那一刻，中华民族生生世世不会忘记的那个日子。从我五岁开始知道这个日子的故事后，它对我的影响将是一代又一代。中国人民纪念抗战70周年的大阅兵刚刚过去，接着918的钟声也要敲响了，我把它看成是迎接我的生日的重大时刻。
高中毕业后，我去了加拿大，我在那里学习生活打工，整整十年沒有离开一天，我对北美这块神奇的土地太熟悉了。刚去的时候，听人说多伦多大学是加拿大数第一的大学，是世界级顶尖大学。於是，从小在国内学的英语不算，到了加拿大，我又努了一年的劲儿，以托福滿分的成绩，同时被多大、渥太华大学、约克大学这三所加拿大名校同时录取，我当然选择了多大，学的是经济学和数学专业。
进了多大，才知道要迈出多大的毕业门槛，可不是一件容易的事。经过四年的努力，取得理学学士学位，我交出了两份成绩单，一份是超过多大研究生院录取线3.78的成绩，一份是超过申请哈佛商学院研究生的GMAT710分（92%）的成绩，虽然我缴不起哈佛昂贵的学费，但我更爱多伦多大学，还是选择了多大研究生院，选修的是管理学和会计专业。
我本可以通过这所名校苦读，从硕到博，留在加拿大或去美国找一份好工作。我在加拿大连续居住了10年竞沒想到申请绿卡这回事。相反，读了一年研究生就弃学回国，只为一件刻骨铭心的事，我用自毁前程的方式，抗议校方在奖学金发放问题上对我的歧视。我的成绩超过了奖学金标准，我向校方提出申诉，那位代表校方的洋人名字叫Hans Harding，对我的申诉置之不理，而且态度非常傲慢。小时候我听外曾祖父姚雪垠说过一句“士可杀不可辱“的话，说是中国读书人把尊严和气节看得比命重。
奖学金不是助学金，是对勤奋的奖赏。西方人平日最讲公平，为什么对我一个中国留学生就不讲公平呢。内心的不平和愤懑已经不是奖学金的问题了，我认为这是种族歧视，连西方人都不接受的种族歧视。它让我想起了长辈讲的文革中“白卷英雄”张铁生的故事，那是发生在荒唐的文革时代，但是张铁生受到今天还有很多中国人热爱的大英雄毛泽东的夸奖，他号召全国青年向他学习。我从逆向得到启发，我要用这种方法抗议多大对我的歧视，给我也给在多大遭受同样对待的中国同学出口气。在年终考试的课堂上我以交白卷的方式表达了对校方的抗议，我的洋教授说你的行为损害了这所世界级顶尖大学的荣誉，你是多大建校近200年来的第一个。我受到校方严历的处罚，责令退学。我当时并无悔恨之意，反而觉得轻松愉快，我可以回到离别10年的故土，在中国实现构思已久的“智能天狗”梦。
在我收拾行李，背起书包跨出校门前的那个夜晚，一个人游走在这个学习、生活了六年的古老校园，我熟悉的教室、食堂，我曾六年为之作伴的与哈佛齐名世界的图书馆，多大的一草一木，在黑夜中，眼泪从心底涌泄而出，无法自抑。
那是2011年4月初春的一天，多伦多还未走出冬天的寒冷，我登上了回国的飞机，这是终生难忘的一天。
直到四年多以后的今天，理性又告诉我，我必须承认，这所世界级的顶尖大学培养了我，教给了我在国内大学可能永远学不到的东西。但是，人生没有后悔。
多伦多，我永远的感激，永远的痛。
回到北京的第一天，迈进家门，迎接我的是老爸疯狂的痛骂，“滚出去，你竟敢为了奖学金，交白卷！”
我知道老爸的家门对我关上了，我只好求助於住在上海的老妈。
第二天一早，我带着剩下的钱买了张去上海的机票，没想到60岁的老妈站在虹桥机场出口，我望着老妈已经花白的头发，一句话都没有。
我怀揣“智能天狗”的梦想，为打工挣钱，往来京港漂了两年多。一次我去香港一家公司应聘，老板说，“多大的研究生比北大清华都值钱，把你的文凭拿来给我看看。”这句话倒提醒了我，现在的中国只看学历不看学力。
我选择了香港城市大学，不仅因为学费便宜，也因为是排在清华之前的亚洲十大名校第九。我用一年的时间修完了两年的课程，取得国际通轨的会计治理学硕士学位，我不能不感激在多大苦读打下的基础。亲爱的朋友，读完了这一段，你大概知道了我，罗天狗是什么人。现在，我要向你们报告，“智能天狗”是什么梦，话还得回到加拿大，从第一次听说马云和他的阿里巴巴说起。
二、马云给我的启示
我记得是进多大研究生院的第一年，在我前面提到为之作伴六年的图书馆里，一个洋同学对我说，你们中国有个叫马云的，他有一个叫阿里巴巴的网上购物公司，太历害了……。在这个大数据时代，互联网无所不能，我第一次听到马云和阿里巴巴的名字。
我开始关注马云和他的阿里。我在网上看到马云2010年在阿里年会上的讲话，给我印象非常深刻。马云说：“阿里巴巴希望十年以后，第一，我们为全球一千万家中小企业创造一个生存发展成长的平台；第二，我们希望为全世界解决一亿就业机会；第三，我们希望为全世界十亿人创造一个消费平台……”。这就像是美国总统的就职演说，超越了摸不着看不见的共产主义理想，这才是真正打算为人民服务的数据宣示，比起谁要解放全人类的天上口号接地气一千倍。
2011年9月，马云在斯坦福大学的演讲更是让我感动，他把人生哲学，商业理念透过百姓的平凡故事，用通俗的英语表述的准确到位，让在座满腹经伦的洋教授、洋学子大开了眼界。这位连中国读书人都不知道杭州师范学院是什么学院走出来的身材瘦小相貌非凡的中国人，在他演讲的世界级顶尖学府投下了巨人的影子，让我这个自认为多伦多大学的优秀学子深深折服。
如果按照马云在2010年阿里年会上讲话目标，我认为从2014年9月马云在美国上市的那一天，就开始结构性地实现了这一说法。我们不妨用大数据的思维方式来计算一下；互联网是谁发明的？是美国！全球最先进的科技文明，最制度化的自由市场在哪里？在美国！全球最大的物流、消费市场在哪里？在中国！从马云在斯坦福的演讲，到他在纳斯达克上市，这短短的3年间，中美完全不同意识形态的两大国，在全球拥有的不同资源、不同领域的排它性优势，都被马云为实现其商业帝国的目标，拿来为己所用。換言之，智慧的马云充分利用了中美两国代表人类各一半的制度差异，被马云两只手充分利用，甚至发挥利用了。他在开曼群岛注册，解决了资金流动的障碍，利用中国劳动力所生产的民生用品，满足了老百姓的生活需要，用支付宝革命性地改变了中国人付款习惯，利用中国拥有全球最大的物流配送网，快捷地送到千家万户。马云的智慧还在于他知道一脉相承的中国传统文化是谁也改变不了的，他知道在中国不懂官场的商人没有一个是成功的，马云的政商智慧，虽不能与打造千古一帝的大政商祖吕不韦相提并论，但大大超越了他的浙江老祖宗红顶巨商胡雪岩已不在话下。我从中看到马云在资本主义与中国特色的社会主义之间充分发挥了他的正能量，马云以他个人魅力与才干，撑起了阿里这座巨厦。
但是，一切事物都是由衰到盛，再由盛而衰。这不仅是自然法则，也是社会发展的规律。回国四年多来，我一直在观察马云的走向。从他1999年在杭州创建阿里巴巴算起，至今也不过16年，从他在纳斯达克上市仅仅过去一年，马云的财富就犹如核爆裂变。我们看看同为世界级富豪的美英商业巨子，无一不是经过几代人上百年的辛勤努力的结果。一个强大的具有生命力的企业犹如斯坦福大学是需要几百年打造的。
我在继续关注马云和他的阿里，自从在纳斯达克上市一年来，股海沉浮有赚有赔那不是问题。而是很少再听到马云励精图治的奋斗呼声，更多的是阿谀奉承，网上马云语录横飞，术士与影星皆收门下，听说就连部长省长见他也要点头哈腰，最近网上还登出马云在香港价值十数亿的豪宅，还有超豪华的私人飞机，为马云炫富的广告铺天盖地。我看到这些，另有一番感触，在中国还有大部分生活在贫困线的中国人以及还没有脱贫致富的大部分中国人，他们已经把仇富的目标指向了那一小部分先富起来的人，谁被捧为首富，谁就首先遭殃。有句话叫“谦受益，滿招损”，虽然马云已经成为中国商业符号，成为国际关注的人物，但马云不是红二代，没有红色血统的传承，在今天更讲红色血统轮替的中国，我觉得马云应该警惕了。我衷心地希望全中国的老百姓和中国所有读书人与马云互为衣食，让马云离不开中国，中国不能没有马云，那将是什么“二代”都撼动不得的开历史先河的创新一代！世界需要一位中国英雄的时代到了，愿天地共佑马云！
虽然马云是中国电商时代的领跑者，可不要忘了同时期为马云铺设互联网跑道的张朝阳，李彦宏，马化腾他们也正在自己构筑的道路上快步疾行。而同样出身草根的刘强东也在自己的电商世界奋起直追。不同的是这几位一样堪称风云人物都比马云低调多了。更不可估算的是无数后来者中一定有破马云阿里局者，甚至是取而代之者。所以，我说五年后的中国互联网与电商市场风云莫测。这就是我用大数据思维对马云计算出的目前结论。我继续沿用这一思维计算，五年以后，马云和他的阿里将达到创业二十年以来的另一个峰值，再往后就是什么数据也难测算的风云变幻了。
於是，在这个特殊的时间节点，我准备抛出淘宝与百度相结合的“智能天狗”计划，搭建一个全新模式的购物平台。
三、我的“智能天狗”计划
我的《智能天狗》计划是一个面向中国的电商行为，将改变中国的电商格局。但是，要开发产品，需要投入巨大的财力、人脑资源力，我在思考和寻找谁最需要，谁最有能力投入这项计划。
2014年9月19日，是马云和他的阿里值得纪念的一天，也是这一天我决定投奔马云。我并未说明投奔他的真实意图，把一页纸的简历直接投给了阿里人力资源部，很快得到答复。我相信，他们绝未对简历进行分析，电脑答复是，“您的学识和资历给我们留下了良好的印象。遗憾的是，您所应聘职位的要求与您的实际情况不太符合，因此暂时没有机会与您合作。”这难道是代表马云招揽人才的人力资源部吗？我曾接到过世界级大公司录用书，也曾接到过香港公司不被录用书，都附有录用与否的诚恳意见或建议。
我将这事和老爸提了一下，他说，在中国无论何事首先要看关系，既使有关系，还要看这方关系人给不给那方关系人面子，给面子是关系学中的学问，是人生途中不可不学的学问，这和马云求贤若渴无关，只和马云今昔位置有关。我听不懂这是什么学问，就说你能帮我找个能直接搭上马云的关系吗，老爸说在杭州他有一个年轻时共事的老朋友，现在很有成就，是一位著作等身的知名作家，不仅是国内影视界的著名建设性人物，也是当代浙江文化广电事业的领军人，还是一位全国政协委员。他认识马云，会给面子，行否，都会给你一个认真答复。老爸当我面给这位叫程蔚东的叔叔打了电话，程叔叔知道我的情况后，表示很乐意将我直接推荐给马云，我遵照程叔叔的意见，给马云写了一封信，附上简历发给了程叔叔。没几天程叔叔打回电话说，马云经常不在杭州，他已将我的信和简历当面拜托阿里首脑部的一位重要领导转给马云本人，叫我等消息好了。
我会永远记住程叔叔，他的推荐就是对我的赏识和鼓励，是我遇到的第二位伯乐。第一位是我的多大研究生推荐人，一位世界知名的数学家。
但是，我相信，我只要抛出“智能天狗“计划书，一定会遇到第三位伯乐。
现在我将给大家非常简要的介绍一“下智能天狗”。“智能天狗”是集合大数据和人工智能的一款专为13亿中国人服务的平台。这个平台是为中国人展示自己想要的商品而建立的。如果一个中国人想要什么东西，他就可以通过“天狗”快速找到这个东西。这里的东西可以是商品物件，也可以是服务讯息。我们打个形象的比喻，如果淘宝做的是导弹，而“智能天狗”做的是精确制导导弹。告诉大家一件事，天狗从来没有想国际化，它只是服务于中国人。在“智能天狗”的前期，由于人工智能开发的限制，我们主要做的是电商这个环节，随着“智能天狗”不断发展完善，我们更希望引入精确的信息输入。不过“智能天狗”要从初级版本升到更高的版本才能满足人们的需求。一句简单的话来概括：“当你有任何需求的时候，来找“智能天狗”，天狗通过人工智能和大数据帮您满足需求。”下一个时代的购物将迈向精确购物。这就是“智能天狗”产生的缘由。

My “artificially intelligent Skydog” and China dream

1, My study path in Canada
Dear friends, if you want to know what “artificially intelligent skydog” is, you should know me first. What is skydog luo? Please take a look at me if you pay attention to skydog.
I was born in 1982, it was dog year in China. My dad called me skydog as a nickname when I was born. He said every Chinese knows story of skydog. The skydog is a famous dog. However, my official name is Luo Zheng Yang. My great grand-father Mr. XueYin Yao gave this name to me. He said: “Zhengyang means integrity.”I knew my great grand-father is a very famous historian and literateur. He passed away when he was ninties. For memorizing him, the nation used his name established “ Xueyin Yao long historical novel award” . However, I love math since I was a child and my math scores were not just good, it was very good.
My birthday is very special. The day for my birthday has very unique meaning. The Chinese people would never forget that date. Japanese army attacked China in World War II. When I was five years old, I knew the story of my birthday.
After my high school finished, I went to Canada. I spent 6 years in the university and 3 years in the job. I didn’t come back to China and the only place I went was the U.S. When I first time entered Canada, I heard University of Toronto is best school in Canada and it is also top university in the world. Hence, I spent one more year in studying English. Finally, I got offers from U of T, University of Ottawa and York University. Of course, I chose U of T. studying economics and math both majors.
When I studied on the U of T, I finally understood one thing: if you want to graduate from U of T, you had to study very hard. Finally, I graduated successfully. I also gave my parents two satisfied test papers: U of T graduate school required matriculation GPA 3.3, I got 3.78，the other was that I got GMAT 710 (92%). Both scores successfully sent me to U of T graduate school and my parents were very happy. I used to think to apply for Harvard business school, but I love U of T too much. I chose to stay.
I was planning to finish my whole education on U of T, even to finish my Ph.D and find a good job in Canada. I spent 9 years in Canada, but I even didn’t apply for permanent residence card. My friends in Canada, most of them, had applied green card. Some of them told me because they couldn’t graduate from the school. They prepared second chance-a green card-for jobs. Contrarily, I gave up my study and went back to China. One thing happened during my study in graduate school. I used self-destruction way to finish my graduate school study for protesting the school regarding to scholarship issue. It was a discrimination when the school granted the scholarship. I was supposed to get scholarship, but the school didn’t give it to me. After many times negotiation with the school representative (Hans Harding), I finally believed it was discrimination to Chinese. When I was a child, I heard my great grand-father say “A scholar prefers death to humiliation”. Chinese people treat moral courage on very important level.
The scholarship is not bursary. The scholarship is award for students who study very hard. I treated scholarship very important. Western people always say justice, but where is my justice? At that time, I felt unfair and anger. I recalled one story my dad told me. In Chinese Cultural Revolution，a man called Tiesheng Zhang used blank test paper to make a complaint against cock-and-bull cultural revolution. Even president Mao Zedong praised him as a hero. He was very famous in China. I decided to imitate Mr. Tiesheng Zhang. I handed in blank exam papers to the school in my finals. It was a self-destruction way for protesting discrimination from the school. I guess I was first person who handed in blank papers in the U of T graduate school 200 years’ history. Of course, I had to leave school.
When I was packing my luggage, I cried. I spent 6 years in this school. I was familiar with everything of the school.
In April 2011, I boarded a plane to China. It was a day I never forget.
Until now, I have to admit, U of T is one of top universities in the world. The school fostered me with the knowledge. The school taught me many things which I couldn’t learn in other places, because it is U of T.
The U of T, it is grateful and it is also painful
When I arrived home, Beijing. My dad was mad for my action. He said:” get off, you even dare to hand in blank papers”
I had no choice. I went to Shanghai to see my mom. When I saw my mom, my mom didn’t say anything.
I brought my “artificial intelligent skydog” dream with me and drifting in Beijing-HongKong. I worked for two years. I remember once I was interviewed by a boss in Hong Kong. She said you need a postgraduate degree. Her words did remind me. I need to make up this missed lesson, and then I could achieve my skydog dream.
Therefore, I chose City University of Hong Kong. The tuition was not quite expensive and the ranking in Asia is very good. I spent one year finishing all the required credits. Finally, I got my Master of Accounting. Getting this degree wasn’t very difficult。 Dear friends, when you read it at this moment, you should know about me. What is“skydog Luo”. Now, I need to report what the “artificial intelligent skydog” is. It must go back to Canada to talk: the first time I heard Mr. Ma Yun and his Alibaba.
2, Inspiration of Ma Yun
I remember when I first time went to U of T graduate school, one of my classmates, a Canadian, told me there is a man called Ma Yun in your China and this man has an internet business company called Alibaba. The company is amazing. During the period of big data, internet can do everything. It was my first time to hear the name of Ma Yun. I began to pay close attention to Ma Yun and his Alibaba. I watched his speech on the internet at 2010 Alibaba final year celebration. Ma Yun said:” Alibaba hopes what it would be in 10 years: first, Alibaba will be a development platform for mid-or small- sized companies. Second, we hope to figure out employment issue for one hundred million people. Third, Alibaba hopes to create a consumer platform for 1 billion people of the world.” The speech Ma Yun made was completely same as the U.S president speech. It has been beyond the communist ideal. This is true slogan for servicing world people
In Sept, 2011, Ma Yun’s speech in Stanford University was awesome. He used common people daily life story to reflect true philosophy and business ideas in the real world, using English to express his ideas. Let professors and students enjoy real teaching lesson. A small-sized man graduated from Hang Zhou normal college let the world top university respect him very much. I, a student, graduated from U of T even admire him very much. Ma yun and his Alibaba created the miracle of Ma Yun dream.
If according to Ma yun’s speech in 2010, I personally think since Alibaba successfully be a listed company in the U.S. it has been proved what he said in his speech. Let us use big data theory to think: who creates internet? The U.S. who has most advanced technology in the world? The U.S; who has largest logistics and consumer market? China! From Ma yun’s Speech in Stanford and from Alibaba successfully listed in the NASDAQ, during these 3 years, Ma Yun takes full advantage of China and the U.S these two big nations resources. In another words, Ma yun uses his wisdom to develop his enterprise. Registered in Oman Islands, solved problems of cash flow. Use cheap products produced by Chinese common people to satisfy most people living needs. The miracle of Ma Yun is because he is very familiar with Chinese culture in Chinese rules. He knows if a businessman doesn’t know the politics, he will be never successful.
Everything always follows the rule that it goes top from the bottom and then goes to bottom from the top. This is natural rule. Never changed. Back to China for 4 years, I have been observing Ma Yun’s trend. From he built Alibaba in 1999. It is only 16 years. From Alibaba being a listed company in the U.S, Ma’s fortune becomes huge. Let’s take a look at world top riches in the U.S, they all go through a couple of generations to accumulate the fortune. The registered company in Oman islands, it can easily avoid taxes, and also avoid supervision. It is Ma yun’s wisdom.
I continue paying close attention to Ma Yun, since being a listed company, we no longer hear What Ma said:” work hard!” Instead, all other people are to curry favor with him. His speech is all over the internet. When Ma meets with provincial governors or ministers, even senior officials bow and scrape to Ma. Billions of houses and private plane, all kinds of “show rich” pictures are on the internet. Don’t forget a lot of Chinese people are living in the poverty. Plus, Ma doesn’t have red background. I think Ma should be alert! I wish all the Chinese people support Ma Yun and his Alibaba. China needs Ma and Ma needs China. No matter what the “red background” is, the Ma will be Chinese giant. God bless Ma Yun.
Ma and his Alibaba built first e-commerce platform in 1999. Now, a lot of e-commerce companies rise. Alibaba’s monopoly will be broken. But Ma’s wisdom is unsurpassable，He watches today’s China and think tomorrow’s world. He will establish platforms in the world. We have to admit Ma is one of best businessmen in recent one hundred years in China.
Ma is frontrunner in e-commerce, but don’t forget Ma huateng, Zhang Chaoyang, Li yanhong. They all run very fast in e-commerce. Finally, latercomers will share the whole market with Ma Yun. His monopoly will no longer exist.
Therefore, I want to combine Taobao and Baidu together to build a totally new platform. This is artificial intelligent skydog.
3, My “artificial intelligent skydog” Plan
Artificial intelligent skydog is not an easy thing. First, to develop the product, it must invest huge amount of money. I am thinking who is capable of doing such thing.
Therefore, when I decided to follow Ma Yun, I didn’t say my true intention. I just sent my resume to human resource of Alibaba. It was very fast, I believed that they didn’t analyze the resume and just sent back a response “your knowledge and your experience impress us a lot, but we don’t have your proper positon” I used to receive an offer from world top company and used to be refused by a Hong Kong company. But they all gave me the reasons and advice. They were very professional.
I told this story to my dad. He said: you are now in China, people doing everything first look at relationships. Even you have relationships, you have to look at “face-giving”. In China, “face-giving” is knowledge. I don’t quite understand. I asked my dad whether he has relationship to contact Ma Yun. My dad said: In Hangzhou, he has an old friend. He is very famous in Zhejiang province. His name is Cheng Weidong. He knew Ma yun. No matter whether Ma yun is “face-giving”, he will give a reply. My dad called Mr. Cheng. Mr. Cheng said he is very happy to give a help.
I emailed my resume and a letter to Ma Yun to Mr. Cheng. A couple of days later, Mr. Cheng replied that Ma Yun is not in Hang Zhou. Mr. Cheng gave my letters to a senior official of company and he will give them to Ma Yun in person.
Although long time has been passed, but I will never forget Mr. Cheng. I really appreciate his recommendation and encouragement. Mr. Cheng is my second talent scout. My first talent scout was my math professor, a famous mathematician. I always believe if I make public of my skydog plan, I will meet with my third talent scout.
Now, I will briefly introduce artificial intelligent skydog to everyone. Skydog combines dig data theory and artificial intelligence together. It only serves for Chinese people. This platform is built for exhibition of products from Chinese. If a Chinese wants something, through skydog, he will easily precisely locate what he wants. The “something” can be products or information. If Taobao is a missile, Skydog is a precision - guided missile. Tell everyone one thing, the skydog never wants to be internationally. It just severs for Chinese. At the beginning, because of restriction of development of artificial intelligence. We will mainly do e-commerce. With development of skydog to advanced level, we hope to import precision information. However, skydog needs to develop from version 1.0 to higher version. More advanced skydog will satisfy more Chinese people. One sentence to summarize skydog “if you have needs, come to skydog, skydog will satisfy your needs”. Next generation of e-commerce is precision-shopping, that is why skydog dream comes from.
